Kyle Wootton joined the Iron as a 10-year-old in 2007 and has been promoted through the club’s youth system.
The 2014/15 campaign was a season Wootton will never forget. The 18-year-old made his first-team debut against Reading in a 1-0 loss in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
In his breakthrough season, he made 14 appearances for the club, and scored his first professional against relegation rivals Port Vale deep into stoppage time to rescue a vital point. Wootton scored a back post header to aid the Iron to a 16th-placed finish.
After a promising first season for the young striker, Wootton went on to appear 28 more times in 2015-16, scoring four goals.
His 2016-17 campaign started well as he came off the bench to net in a 3-1 opening day victory over Bristol Rovers before he spent spells out on loan to North Ferriby United and Cheltenham Town.
