Scunthorpe United announced the loan signing of striker Ivan Toney from Newcastle United until the end of the season.
It’s the forward’s second spell at Glanford Park, following his stay here last term where he netted seven goals in 11 starts.
The 21-year-old joined Wigan Athletic on loan during the summer, and scored six times in 12 starts but was recalled by his parent club Newcastle.
Before joining United last year, he scored seven goals during a half-season loan stay at Shrewsbury Town.
He enjoyed two loan spells at Barnsley in 2015-16, where he enjoyed a double dose of Wembley success with the Tykes. While there, he won the Football League Trophy and promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.
A product of Northampton Town's youth set-up, he made 29 starts and 31 substitute appearances for the Cobblers, scoring 13 goals, before a permanent move to St James' Park in 2015.
