Lee Turnbull returned to the club as Head of Recruitment at the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

He came back to Glanford Park after leaving Oldham Athletic, with the former Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Chesterfield player initially leaving the club to join Sheffield United as chief scout last summer.

While a player at Scunthorpe he scored seven goals in a near-half century of appearances for the club.

On returning the club, one which he has already given over 20 years service to as a player, chief scout and working as part of the SUFC Trust, he said: "People who know me, know this club means a lot to me."

"I've done 20 years service whether it's been a player, part of the management team or heading up the community schemes. It was a pretty easy decision to come back.

"The good thing is that I've experienced promotion already during my time at Scunthorpe United. I think I've seen five promotions, worked with nine managers from being a player when Dave Moore first signed me right the way through to the current manager Graham Alexander, who I played with as well."
