Former Iron player and manager Neil Cox will be the guest speaker in the restaurant when the Iron host Solihull Moors on Saturday, February 28th (3pm kick-off).
Beginning his professional career with his hometown team, after progressing through the youth system, he signed professionally for the Iron in 1990 and made just over 20 senior appearances, scoring once, before earning a move to Aston Villa in 1991. Although his playing time at Scunthorpe was relatively brief, the club provided the platform for a long career that included Premier League football and international recognition with Wales.
Cox returned to Scunthorpe decades later as first-team manager in August 2020, marking his first managerial role in the EFL. In the 2020–21 season, he guided the club to safety in League Two, avoiding relegation after a challenging campaign behind closed doors before leaving the club in November 2021.
A familiar face at the Attis Arena, and a regular visitor back to the club, along with occasionally providing co-commentary on BBC Radio Humberside, the 54-year-old will have a number of stories to tell from his playing and management experiences.
