The Iron are looking to bounce back from a blow, after their 2-1 loss away to Rushall Olympic.

Cal Roberts didn’t manage to find the back of the net last weekend, but with two goals in his last three, the forward is still in positive form. Roberts will be looking to get back on the scoresheet in a crucial game for United. A man who did manage to build on his form was Danny Whitehall, who built on his first half brace against King’s Lynn, as he got the opener last time out against Rushall, the striker will be looking to bag again as against eighth-placed Chorley.

In the reverse fixture at the Attis Arena the points were shared, after Danny Whitehall got an opener on the stroke of half time the Iron were in front by a goal for most of the match. Five minutes from full time, the visitors found an equaliser through Kole Hall.

Chorley have found wins hard to come by recently in the league. With just one win in their last four, getting back to winning ways will be a huge goal for the Magpies if they want to clinch a play-off place this season to keep promotion dreams alive.

At home, Chorley have found themselves a tough side to beat - only Chester, who have played one more game at home, have picked up more points on home soil than them. The Magpies have picked up 24 points from their 12 fixtures at home, with seven wins, three draws and just two losses at home, the Iron will need a massive performance to get all three points in this clash.

In contrast to Chorley’s great form at home, Scunthorpe have been solid on the road this season with the third best record on the road. The Iron have picked up 23 points from 13 away games, with seven wins, two draws and four losses. Only Curzon and Brackley have picked up more points; 28 and 24 respectively.

As United head to Victory Park, which has become some sort of a fortress for hosts, three points is the challenge, but will certainly not be easy.
