The Iron are back in action for a home clash against Farsley Celtic, as they look to quickly bounce back from the disappointing 3-2 defeat, suffered last time out against Southport.
The club from West Yorkshire are also coming into this fixture after a difficult defeat, a 3-0 reverse, away to Hereford.
The Iron have an attacker in red hot form going into this game, Callum Roberts, who will be looking to get another goal contribution against Farsley to help Scunthorpe get back to winning ways. Roberts has got four goals and one assist in our last four fixtures. Danny Whitehall also recently broke his goal drought in the 3-0 victory over Rushall and bagged again against Southport, to make it two in two, the attacking form is encouraging for the Iron.
Our opponents have struggled for goals recently having scored more than one goal in a match, just once in their last nine matches, which saw them lose five, draw two and win two of the nine. A key player for the Villagers this season though has been central midfielder Danny Greenfield, the 23-year-old has picked up three goals and two assists in midfield from his 12 appearances this season netting in their 3-0 victory over Peterborough Sports on the 23rd October, and has been a fundamental player for them.
Farsley Celtic’s number 10 and club captain, Ben Atkinson has also contributed massively to the goals this season. The right midfielder has netted four goals and got an assist for the villagers, and will be looking to improve his account for the season to help his side pick up some crucial points on the road.
As both sides look to bounce back from defeats, the Iron will want to get back to winning ways at the Attis Arena and take advantage of the 12th man, as we look to try and reclaim top spot.
