Three weeks ago, the Iron launched a supporter vote regarding next season’s badge, which could be adopted for the 2024-25 season as part of the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
With a rich history, which saw us turn professional in 1912 before being elected to the league in 1950, supporters will have many memories of the highs and lows that have presented themselves over the course of the 125 years we’ve been in existence.
Over the course of the campaign next season, we will have a number of events and memorabilia that will pay homage to our proud history, and as a club we remain committed to making it a season to remember, and a season to celebrate.
The change not only does this give the club an opportunity to expand our commercial infantry for the season, but it also opens a number of avenues in terms of merchandise and other revenue streams that also help the club move forward. A temporary rebrand, and the associated benefits, are significant, and also allow Scunthorpe United to celebrate moving into a milestone season that was very nearly not reached.
The options presented to supporters incorporated our current badge, and some which look at our former unity crest, with six options for fans to vote on. The vote took place on Google Form, with the results as follows:

A: 333 (20.5%)
B: 68 (4.2%)
C: 250 (15.4%)
D: 76 (4.7%)
E: 771 (47.4%)
F: 130 (8%)
Following supporter feedback throughout the vote, we have made some minor tweaks to the winning crest “E”, with the two new versions displaying “1899” and “2024”, while one of the logos adopts a further colour.
The final vote via Google Form, by clicking here, will indicate the final preference or the original, the version with the years on, and the colour aspect. The crest with the most votes will be the primary logo used for the 2024-25 season. This vote will be in operation until Monday, March 11th at 5pm.
Additionally, we are looking for a commercial partner to work with us for our 125th anniversary, which will see your brand used on all material for the season when referencing our milestone year.
