The Iron are back on the road on Easter Monday, after a 0-0 draw against King’s Lynn Town at the Attis Arena.

The Iron hit the woodwork three times in the second half but in the end didn’t prevail.

In the reverse fixture, Southport's strong away form couldn’t prevail, as the Iron edged a 1-0 victory. Maxim Kougun got himself on the scoresheet for the Iron to claim all three points with just 18 minutes remaining.

IRON TEAM NEWS

Will Evans moves onto the fourth and final game of his absence through suspension following his second red card of the campaign against Banbury United a few weeks ago at the Attis Arena.

With this being the fourth game in nine days, Jimmy Dean is expected to ring the changes again to try and keep the side fresh and get back to winning ways.

THE OPPOSITION

Southport have just one defeat in their last eight and will not be a pushover by any means as the Iron look to claim second place.

Southport sit 15th in the table, nine points above the relegation zone, but have picked up some real valuable points lately. Southport's away form has been their strongest point as they have claimed 31 points away from home, the fourth best record away from home in the division one point more than the Iron.

However this match of course is at home for Southport and at home they have left a lot to be desired with the 22nd worst home form in the division picking up just 22 points at the Big Help Stadium.

Iron loanee, Richie Bennett is in fine form for our opponents since joining in March. Bennett has netted five in his last seven and has proved himself to be a key player for Southport since finding form and has helped pick up points numerous times since signing. Another Iron loanee netting goals for Southport, is Marcus Carver, Marcus netted in Southport's win over Bishop’s Stortford and has scored 12 goals this season since joining in July, and has been another goal output for our opposition.
