Centre-back Will Evans talks on how he’s adjusting to life in claret and blue as the first game of pre-season draws closer.
“I spoke to the gaffer numerous times and his vision for the club was what I was looking for. For me, everything just fell into place nicely off and hopefully on the field.
When asked what his goals for the upcoming season were, he responded by saying: “The goal is to win the league and there’s no hiding from it. We need to get promoted. This football club isn’t a National League North club.
On being asked if he was looking forward to his debut this coming weekend at Brigg Town he replied: “It should be a good turnout in terms of fans in order to see the new faces and it’s a good opportunity to get some minutes under our belts.
“I’m the oldest player that the gaffer has signed but that comes with my experience at National League level which I think will be key, I’ve always been towards the right end of the table, and I’ve played in some big matches so my experience will hopefully be a massive help to the younger lads coming through.
“Pre-seasons been tough to be fair, but it’s been a good few days. Obviously everyone is getting to know each other. I’ve really enjoyed it. Everyone’s pushing in the right direction, working hard and gearing up for the start of the season."
