He said: "It's disappointing and not the result we wanted. I felt we did okay in the first half in terms of trying to match Boreham Wood, who are and have been for years one of the better teams in the league. We knew what to expect from them and how they were going to play. It was a case of matching their work rate and trying to compete with them. We knew there would be a lot of balls flying forward at us and I felt we did okay in the first-half.
"We got to half-time at 0-0 and in the second half we came out and did alright for ten minutes but then it was disappointing the manner in which we conceded both goals.
"You look at the first goal, it's a fantastic save from our goalkeeper but they're on the front foot following it up instead of us being on the front foot clearing it. It's fine margins like that we've got to be better at. The second goal was disappointing and in a similar sort of area.
"At the other end of the pitch, we have to be better when we cross the halfway line. We talked about trying to play forward, retain possession in their half, come out, switch play, get the full-backs and wingers into it, but it didn't quite happen in the second half for us.
"There were a couple of shots the goalkeeper dived down and smothered, while we had some fly over the bar too. Sometimes it can be about lack of confidence players have in that they snatch at chances, turn shots down or not quite strike the ball right. It's difficult when you're on a losing run. You have to find a way out of it. Today we looked to take the game to Boreham Wood and have a go. We went 4-4-2 too because I felt that was how we needed to go, putting round pegs in round holes, playing with wingers. It's the first game so we're not going to be over the top with it but there's obviously a lot to work on.
"It's about getting down to work again on Monday, getting messages across, working hard before we go to Eastleigh next weekend."
