A hat-trick from on-loan striker Steve MacLean, as well as a goal from Paul Hayes, saw United cruise to a 4-0 win over Cambridge On This Day in 2003.
Iron manager Brian Laws was delighted with the `exceptional` football his side played to rip apart the U's, saying: "It was another terrific performance up front - that was Steve's third hat-trick of the season.
"Unfortunately every goal he scores makes it more diffcult for us to keep him on loan beyond the start of the New Year.
"We are doing everything we can to persuade Rangers to let him stay but when he scores goals like this he will attract some interest from other teams."
