Interim first team manager Tony Daws spoke to Iron Player after his side's 2-0 away loss at Eastleigh on Tuesday night.

Vincent Harper scored a brace in the second-half to seal the victory for the home team, but Daws felt his side deserved at least a point from the game at the Silverlake Stadium.

"The second goal was when we were pushing forward, in the 93rd minute on the counter-attack," he said.

"We've had chances and I honestly don't think we deserved to lose that and felt we should have got something from the game, and I'm sure most people here would have thought it, but it's not worked out.

"Eastleigh are a decent side and I think we more than matched them on the night, and I'm really disappointed we didn't get at least a draw.

"We had two good chances at 0-0, with Andrew Boyce headers from Jacob Butterfield corners. He created space, got on the end of them, got a great header on and they've just gone over the top.

"He's a great professional, a fantastic lad, and he stuck his hand up in the changing room and said 'listen fellas, I should have scored'. I respect that because he understands what it's about, and it's being honest."

Daws provided an update on Reagan Ogle, who came off in the closing stages of the game.

He said: "He's not in a good way, he has a back spasm and is struggling with pain at the moment."
