United will put in more miles completing their National League fixtures next season - 660 more than in the last campaign in fact.

Last season, the team travelled 6,662 miles to complete their 23 regular away league games, but they will travel 7,322 to take on the sides in the National League next season.

With seven away league fixtures over 200 miles away, a significant number of miles have been added to United’s scheduling, with just six games under the 100-mile radius - one less than in their 2021-22 campaign.

The shortest trip of the season will see Scunthorpe and Chesterfield battle it out once more, while York City’s play-off success from National League North sees the Minstermen slot in as the second closest team to Glanford Park. Oldham Athletic - the only familiar face from last season - is fifth on the list.

National League newcomers Dorking Wanderers is the fourth longest trip of the season, while Eastleigh is the third longest. United fans will have memories of former league trips to Yeovil Town and Torquay United, the two longest trips at 532 and 590-mile round trips, respectively.

There’ll be one trip out of the country to Wales, as Wrexham failed to gain promotion to the EFL via the play-offs. Such is the nature of the division, the trip to the Racecourse Ground is the eighth shortest.

The Iron will spend a number of matchdays in-and-around the capital, with the likes of Barnet, Wealdstone, Dagenham and Bromley all to face in the forthcoming campaign.
