Kgosi Ntlhe speaks after completing his signing

12 July 2022

Left-back Kgosi Ntlhe has reacted to rejoining the Iron on a six-month deal.

The 28-year-old signs to follow up on a spell with us in the 2019-20 season, during which he made 21 appearances and scored once during a campaign that was curtailed by the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ntlhe has been on trial with the club since the start of pre-season and told Iron Player: "I'm grateful to get it over the line. I've been here for a couple of weeks now and training has been hard, but it's good to be back.

"It doesn't seem that long (since Ntlhe was last with United) to be fair, but my season got cut short as I had a little issue with my achilles and then Covid happened, and it was a bad way to go out really."

Having played with Keith Hill at Rochdale, he's well aware of the intensity of the current Iron first team manager's usual pre-seasons, and this one has been no different.

"All the time," he laughed.

"I know him well and what he wants, and it's just been a case of getting up to speed.

"Hopefully I can pass the message on the young kids as well, as he likes the more senior players to be like coaches and lead in the changing room.

"The boys have been good to me and we have some good players.

"As a team we just need to take every game as it comes, and personally I just want to play as much as I can and hopefully the team will do well."
