In Memoriam: Peter Robinson

20 January 2022

Scunthorpe United is saddened to learn of the passing of former Secretary of the club Peter Robinson, aged 86.

Joining the club on October 17, 1960, Peter arrived from Crewe Alexandra and would be in the position for four years before departing for Brighton and Hove Albion in October 1964.

After his short stint on the south coast, he would then move to Liverpool in 1965, spending 35 years at the club until the new millenium. For the final eight years of his stay there, from 1992 until 2000, he was the Chief Executive Officer.

Involved in the Anfield-based side's most successful days, the side Liverpool won 29 major trophies, including 12 league titles and four European Cups while he was in his role.

The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the club are with Peter's family and friends.
