The hosts sit second in the league having won five and drawn four of their opening 10 league fixtures.
Last weekend's win at Oldham Athletic was a first victory in five attempts in the league for Simon Weaver's side, and Cox is looking forward to the test at the EnviroVent Stadium.
He told iFollow Iron: "They haven't been beaten at home this season and are flying high in the table, but we went there last season when under a little bit of pressure and got a good result, winning 5-2, and we're looking forward to the challenge.
"After Tuesday night's performance (at Rotherham United in the Papa John's Trophy), we saw positivity in the way we wanted to play and that's how we're going to go into it, with positivity about what we can do. We need to start turning the corner, pick up some results and get back to winning ways.
"The other night, I know the scoreline was 4-1 but the chances created and the way we played was a positive for us. It's about players doing their jobs, us staying in the game and controlling our possession."
There are fresh doubts over centre-back Emmanuel Onariase and midfielders Alfie Beestin and Devarn Green ahead of this weekend's game, while Harry Bunn, who had been struggling with a hamstring issue in the past fortnight, will miss out after picking up a knock after coming on as a substitute at Newport County last Saturday.
He said: "Manny has a sore hamstring, while Alfie Beestin and Devarn Green both have dead legs, while Bunny won't be fit. He took a whack when he came on as a substitute at Newport.
"Those first three players are 50-50, so we'll look at them on Friday and see how they react ahead of the game."
Talking about the sold out away crowd backing his side at the weekend, Cox continued: "Let's hope they have a good day and enjoy themselves, but we've got to go there and put on a good show for them. I know if we do that, they'll get behind us. It's just what the boys we need - we need the support."
