Last season, Scunthorpe would have travelled 6,328 miles both ways in the 23 regular away league games.
In 2021-22 though, the team will travel 6,662 miles to complete their away fixtures.
Following Grimsby Town's relegation to the National League, the Iron’s shortest trip next season will now be at Mansfield Town, which is just two miles shorter than the trip to Harrogate Town.
EFL newcomers Sutton United is the third longest trip after being promoted from the National League, providing we're scheduled to play them after their grass pitch has been laid. United’s longest trip is Exeter City for the second successive season.
Meanwhile, the relegation of Swindon Town and Bristol Rovers into the division adds two long trips to the mix, although the relegation of Southend to the National League and Cambridge United and Cheltenham Town getting promoted out of League Two have seen some other of the longer distance games also disappear.
In 2021-22, there are seven teams in the league within a 100-mile radius. United have gained one (Rochdale), losing two (Bolton Wanderers and Grimsby Town).
