We can announce the appointment of Claire Swindell in the role of Academy Head of Sports Science & Medicine.
Claire was previously Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services with the Swindon Town first team up to her appointment with the Iron’s academy, while she was also Head of Medical at Chesterfield FC Academy before moving in to the first team as Head of Medical for a two-and-a-half year spell from October 2018.
Previously, she had been at Doncaster Rovers in a number of medical and physiotherapy positions between 2010 and 2018.
Academy Manager Tony Daws said: “Claire comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in both the academy and first team environment at a number of clubs and I am sure that Claire will prove to be a great addition to our academy and football club.”
She will replace long-serving employee Darren Mouatt, who is set to leave the club later this summer to take on a position elsewhere.
Daws added: “I would like to say a really big thank you to Daz Mouatt for all of his excellent service over the many years that he has worked at Scunthorpe United Football Club with both the first team and the academy. I would like to wish Daz good luck in his future as he moves on.”
