The 24-year-old opened the scoring in the fourth minute of that home success, netting his second goal of the season.
Speaking to iFollow Iron after the victory, Green said: “We’ve had to keep ourselves fit from having those games postponed or abandoned due to the weather, so in training we really had to go hard and keep our fitness up.
“It’s been frustrating, but you have got to deal with it, that’s football. You have got to take it as it comes and just keep going. We’ve kept our momentum going and now we have got to take it into Tuesday (away at Bolton).”
Reacting to the game as a whole, Green said that the performance from the team was excellent. He continued: “As the game was going by, we had more of the ball and it was opening up. We then scored the second one, and then Lewis Spence with that screamer - it was job done.”
Speaking about the turnaround in form, he said: “It was tough at the start of the season and we were struggling a bit, but we kept grinding through it. That’s the best thing to do. When you go through those tough times, you need to go through it and hopefully come out the other end like we have. We’ve got a great set of lads and now we’re winning games."
The next game the Iron face is Bolton Wanderers away on Tuesday night as they start a long run of consecutive midweek matches.
