We resume a feature where we get to know the Iron's current intake of academy scholars, continuing with second year player Oliver Lobley.

Date of birth: 23/03/2004.

Place of birth: Worksop.

Position: Left-back.

What school did you go to? Tuxford Academy.

What was the first team you played for? Walesby Juniors.

Do you have a nickname? Lobbers.

How were you spotted by Scunthorpe? I was recommended by a coach at the club.

How long have you been at the club for? Three years. I’m currently in my fourth season.

Who has been the biggest influence on you since joining the club? Jamie Hardwick.

What are your strengths as a player? My vision, range of passing, reading of the game and I’m consistent.

If you could improve one part of your game, what would it be? Speed and agility.

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? You get out what you put in.

What boots do you wear? Adidas X’s.

Are you any good at any other sports? Table tennis.

What other non-footballing sports people do you admire? Tyson Fury and Adam Peaty.

Who are your best friends in football? I don’t have a certain best friend, as I get along well with everyone.

What is the best goal you've ever scored and could you describe it? It was for Mansfield in a cup final. I got the ball on the left touchline and shot across goal and scored.

Who do you think is the best player in the world in your position? At the minute I’d say Luke Shaw.

Which player did you look up to as a kid? Stuart Pearce.

What is the most memorable match you have played in and why? Against Manchester City Under-21s because it was my debut for the first team.

Tell us something about yourself we might not know. I once scored 72 goals in a season when I was younger.
