Scunthorpe United can confirm Wednesday night's home league encounter against Northampton Town has been postponed.
Northampton have informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfil the fixture at the Sands Venue Stadium with a number of positive COVID cases in their squad. We wish those affected a swift and safe recovery.
In light of the increased transmission rate of the Omicron variant, the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement. In addition it will assist affected clubs throughout this challenging period to help them mitigate against the risk of infection amongst players and staff, while ensuring their obligations to the EFL regulations are maintained.
As soon as we have a new date for the game, we will confirm on our website and social media channels. Refund information will also be confirmed once the match is rearranged.

In an amendment to our festive opening hours, the Iron's ticket office will now be closed on Tuesday, December 28th, re-opening between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday, December 29th.
