This season Scunthorpe United's Academy is holding a number of ‘Grassroots Trial/Talent Days’ for local Scunthorpe and district players. The events will give local children the chance to showcase their footballing skills and to hopefully get signed in to the Academy.

Report directly to the grass pitches
The event will be held outdoor and so all parents/players must report directly to the grass pitches at the St Lawrence Academy for registration no earlier than 09.50am. All players should arrive ready to play and must wear shin pads during the coaching session, and also bring a soft drink or water. Players should wear their own appropriate training kit and footwear.
Applying to attend
Parents are requested to download and complete the Trial/Talent Day registration form from the Club website and forward it to: tom.spall@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
Applications to attend must be emailed to Tom by Wednesday 25th August at 5pm at the latest. If it is not received by this deadline, unfortunately your child will not be able to attend the event.
Covid Safe
Parents must pre-register their child before they can attend the event; please do not just turn up on the day without registering as your child will not be allowed to participate.
Players should arrive for registration no more than 10 minutes before the start time.
To ensure everyone’s health & safety and in line with our Covid policy, players and parents/guardians should not attend if they or their child are experiencing any Covid symptoms or if they are self-isolating.
Parents are allowed to watch the coaching session but must observe the session from a distance at all times and not encroach too close to the practise.
Safeguarding/Player Welfare/Child Protection
For safeguarding, player welfare and child protection reasons, an adult 18+/parent/guardian must stay with their child throughout the duration of the event.
Places are limited and so are offered on a first come first served basis.
Apply early to avoid disappointment
Due to the Covid situation, please do not just ‘turn up’ on the day.
Weather
In the event of inclement weather and in the interest of player safety and well-being, the Academy reserves the right to postpone or cancel the trial/talent day at any time. We will contact you prior to the event if we need to cancel due to the weather.
