Rowe, who made his debut against Swindon Town back in March, said: “Overall, I think it was a good performance from the lads. I think that's the best we've played this season.

“We got the ball down, passed it and created lots of chances when Dev (Devarn Green) and Myles (Hippolyte) were running at the full-backs.

“It's disappointing to lose again but I think we've got to take a lot of positives from that game."

Commenting on the COVID-19 situation which saw two further players test positive and others who have been in close contact having to self-isolate, he said: “It has been difficult for the lads, but we have come together and just got on with it. We had to focus on what we had with us and I think we did that quite well.”

Reflecting on his second league start for the club, he said: “I was buzzing when I got told I was starting, it's been a hard beginning to the season for me with injuries and things like that, but I'm buzzing to get back on the pitch."

Rowe scored at the start of the second half with a header from a right-wing Mason O'Malley corner, and stated: “I came in the box with a good cross from Mason. I just got my head on it and it went in thankfully."

Speaking about the game as a whole, he said: “We had most of the possession, especially when we came out into the second half. We played well in the first half, but were unlucky to be 2-0 down.

“We need to build on the positives that we took from that game, and hopefully we can go into this week's ones and get the results."
