Ross Joyce will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league encounter against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.
The Cleveland-based official travels to the Sands Venue Stadium for his seventh game of the campaign and his second in Sky Bet League Two. Joyce is currently in his sixth season as an EFL match official.
His first game of the campaign was Preston North End's emphatic 4-0 home win over Mansfield Town in Round One of the Carabao Cup - a game in which he issued four cautions. Meanwhile, his latest encounter was on Tuesday night in the EFL Trophy when he took charge of the match between Shrewsbury Town and Bolton Wanderers. The match ended 2-1 to the hosts, with six yellow cards shown.
He's taken charge of the Iron on seven occasions in total, most recently last December when the side squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at home to Colchester United. Four cautions were issued in the game, with Scunthorpe's only card going to Jordan Clarke. In the seven previous games, he's shown 23 yellow cards and no reds.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Forest Green on six previous occasions, with four of those coming while both were operating in the Conference / National League. His most recent encounter involving the side was last August when he oversaw a 2-1 defeat at Port Vale. Across all six fixtures, he's shown 12 yellow cards and one red.
In 2018-19, he took charge of 44 games, including back-to-back visits to Wembley, taking charge of the FA Vase Final and the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Final.
Last season, he issued 115 yellow cards and three reds in 27 games. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in six encounters, showing 23 yellows and one red.
On Saturday, Joyce will be assisted by Stephen Wade and Daniel Woodward, while Ian Smedley has been appointed as the fourth official.
