Scunthorpe United can confirm two of our players have tested positive for COVID-19.

The club is following all of Public Health England and the EFL's COVID-19 protocols and will not name the players in question. We ask that their request for privacy and confidentiality are respected at this time.

Due to coming into close contact with those players, three other members of the squad will also have to self-isolate.

Under-23s manager Russ Wilcox is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test so goalkeeping coach Paul Musselwhite will take the team for the away game at Exeter City on Saturday. First team manager Neil Cox will watch the match and work remotely due to having to self-isolate after coming into close contact with assistant manager Mark Lillis, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week.

We wish those affected a swift and safe recovery, and look forward to welcoming them back to the club soon.
