Scott Oldham will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Colchester United on Saturday.

The Lancashire-based official will travel to the JobServe Community Stadium for his 33rd game of the campaign and his 12th in Sky Bet League Two.

His first game of the campaign came on the second weekend of the season when he oversaw Portsmouth's 2-0 home win over Tranmere Rovers in Sky Bet League One, showing two yellow cards. His most recent game was on March 7th when he oversaw Lincoln City's 3-2 home win over Burton Albion. He issued three cautions on the day.

He's taken charge of the Iron on four previous occasions, back in October 2017 when the side beat Oldham Athletic 3-2 at SportsDirect.com Park. On that night, he issued three cautions before taking charge of a 1-0 defeat away at Walsall in December 2017, issuing two yellow cards. Last season oversaw the 4-1 home loss to Plymouth last season, showing four cautions, while he was most recently in charge back in January when we were defeated at home to Newport County when he showed Lee Novak a straight red card. In total, he's shown 13 yellow cards and one red across the four fixtures.

Meanwhile, he's been involved in a Colchester United fixture thrice. The most recent encounter came a year ago, on this very weekend as the Us lost 3-0 at Exeter City. The first encounter saw the Us lose 4-1 at home, with the game turning on its head following a 44th minutes straight red card for Kyel Reid. Colchester were 1-0 up at the time, but would concede a quarter of second half goals. In total, across the three games, he's shown seven cautions and one red.

In 2017-18 - his debut campaign in the EFL - he took charge of 31 games, issuing 79 yellow cards and five reds. In 2018-19, he officiated in 34 encounters, showing 99 yellows and one red, while so far this season, he's shown 91 yellow cards and five reds in 32 games.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Ryan Whitaker and Nicholas Cooper, while Garry Maskell has been appointed as the fourth official.
