Coronavirus ticketing and retail FAQs

16 March 2020

The EFL have confirmed the decision to suspend fixtures in response to the recent coronavirus outbreak and the following provides some frequently asked questions on ticketing and retail.

Which Iron games have been postponed?
So far, the following first team fixtures have been postponed.
Saturday 14th March – Colchester Untied away
Tuesday 17th March – Exeter City away
Saturday 21st March – Salford City home
Saturday 28th March – Stevenage away

I’ve purchased a ticket, is my ticket still valid?
Yes, you will be able to use the ticket for the rearranged game. This includes the home, away and official coach travel tickets.

I’ve purchased a ticket, can I get a refund?
These games have been postponed and not cancelled, so the plan is for these fixtures to be played at a later date. As per 3.6 of our terms and conditions, no refunds can be given until a new date for the rearranged fixture is confirmed. As new dates are yet to be confirmed, we are currently unable to provide a refund. We are waiting for further guidance from the EFL on when the football programme can recommence and will update with any news when we have it.

If I cannot make the date of the new fixture, will I be able to get a refund?

Yes. Providing the ticket is returned to the SUFC ticket office before the day of the rearranged game, you will be entitled to a refund. These will only be available once a new date for the fixture has been confirmed.

Will the club be open during the postponement period?

The stadium is currently closed up to and including Friday, March 20th as a minimum and this will be reviewed nearer the time. Please check the website and social media for latest updates. The club apologises for any inconvenience and full details can be found here. Some staff will be working remotely during business hours so further enquiries can be sent via email.

How can I renew my season ticket?
Season tickets can be purchased online only at present. If you are renewing your season ticket, you will need to log into your specific account. In person and phone sales are currently unavailable while the stadium remains closed. The early bird rate is available until Friday 22nd May.

How can I purchase merchandise from the club?
Oldrids department store in Scunthorpe town centre currently remains open at present, with opening times available here. Our online store sufcshop.com remains available to order from, however, there will be a delay in being able to collect orders or in orders being sent via post due to the stadium closure. Supporters who have ordered online will be contacted individually with updates.

Are games beyond April 3rd likely to be postponed?
The professional game has currently been suspended by the FA, Premier League and the EFL up to April 3rd meaning the fixture against Leyton Orient on Saturday 4th April is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned. However, the football authorities are regularly reviewing the situation and will update should the situation change. Please keep checking the website and social media for the latest available information.

For further updates please keep an eye on the club's official social media and website.
