KVV nominated for Trophy player of the round

10 January 2020

Iron striker Kevin van Veen has been nominated for the Trophy player of the round accolade following his performance against Manchester City U21s in Round Three of the competition.

The frontman scored twice as United eliminated their opposition at the Sands Venue Stadium, scoring the first and second Scunthorpe goals, and setting up Matthew Lund's strike, to help seal a 3-1 win and progression to the quarter-finals to face Portsmouth away.

The Trophy player of the round competition gives fans the opportunity to vote for the player they feel starred in each round of the competition.

An independent football expert selects five worthy players that make up the shortlist for each round and supporters have the chance to vote for the final two.

The two players with the most votes will then be considered by a judging panel consisting of representatives from the EFL, before the overall winner is revealed.

By entering, supporters can win signed merchandise from an EFL League One or League Two club of their choice.

The nominations for the Player of the Round for Round Two are as follows:

Padraig Amond - Newport County
Joe Bursik - Accrington Stanley
Danny Lloyd - Salford City
Craig Mackail-Smith - Stevenage
Kevin van Veen - Scunthorpe
