21 January 2020

The Iron will host their fourth annual Grassroots Football Day, welcoming a wealth of local youngsters to the Sands Venue Stadium for our Sky Bet League Two fixture against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020.

After the success of last event over the last three campaigns, which on all occasions saw over 1,000 extra spectators situated in the AMS Stand, United are pleased to be announcing the same offer in celebration of our local junior talent.

Representatives of the clubs are invited to take advantage of the offer which will see all registered children in the group admitted for FREE, while a special price of £10 will be in operation for adults on a maximum 1:1 ratio with children in the team.

We’ve had a massive amount of Grassroots success over the last four seasons, with our flag bearing packages consistently selling out. As a result, we also introduced a brand new big flag package in 2018-19, one which has also proved very popular.

As a result of the Grassroots Day, the visiting supporters from Gloucestershire will be located in the over-spill section of the East Stand.

The Respect campaign was launched in the 2008-09 season, the campaigns most recent mantra of #WeOnlyDoPositive aims to improve behaviour on touchlines across the country by raising awareness of Respect amongst a new generation of parents, coaches, volunteers and players.

Both the Iron and the Lincolnshire FA have joined forces to promote this message in strength to see more people getting behind making grassroots football enjoyable and safe for our children to participate in.
