The Staffordshire-based official arrives at the Sands Venue Stadium for his 24th game of the campaign and his seventh in Sky Bet League Two.
His first game of the campaign was Southend United's 2-1 away win in the Carabao Cup back in August when he issued three yellow cards. His latest encounter was last Saturday when he oversaw the 2-2 draw between Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury Town - a game in which he showed just one caution.
He's taken charge of the Iron on 15 occasions in 12 years, most recently what was Stuart McCall's first game in charge of the club in September 2018 when the side drew 1-1 away at Accrington Stanley. Three of those 15 games have been United versus Charlton Athletic. In total, he's shown 34 yellow cards and 4 reds in Scunthorpe United fixtures.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Crewe Alexandra on 17 occasions - their most recent in the Leasing.com Trophy back in November when they hosted Everton Under-21s. He issued three yellow cards on the day. In total, across the 17 games, he's shown 44 yellow cards and one red.
In 2018-19, he took charge of 44 games, issuing 138 yellow cards and eight reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 23 encounters, showing 59 yellows and one red.
On Saturday, Sarginson will be assisted by Marc Wilson and Stephen Wade, while Geoffrey Liddle has been appointed as the fourth official.
