Russ Wilcox was left frustrated after the Iron’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Swindon Town was called off.
He told iFollow Iron: “We’re disappointed but not surprised. The pitch is playable but there were safety issues. The Swindon Town safety officer said there are parts of the stand that aren’t safe.
“We’d have liked it earlier but you’ve got to give it every chance. The wind might suddenly drop. It is what it is. We just move on. The timing of Storm Dennis hasn’t helped us.
He is now hoping his squad will be well rested ahead of a home clash with Forest Green Rovers next weekend.
He explained: “We can’t get any work into the lads today. There’s nowhere to train here and by the time we get back it’ll be dark so we lose a day.
“The flip side is, hopefully the lads will be fresh and ready for next week.”
