Under-23s preview: Hull City (H)

3 February 2020

The Iron's Under-23s side return to action with a Premier League Cup group stage home tie against Hull City on Monday night (7pm kick-off).

The game will be played at the Sands Venue Stadium. We will also have live text coverage on our Twitter feed, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for over-65s and under-18s in the Lincs Lifts Stand only (Turnstiles 8A and 8B). 12th Man holders for this season can gain free entry providing they produce their season ticket card on the turnstile.

SCENE-SETTER

The Under-23 side's last match was against Peterborough United in the Central League Cup, and it was a game where they ran out 3-1 victors through goals from George Miller, Harry Baker and Ryan Colclough.

A number of players who have been on the bench or on the fringes for the first team in recent weeks may play a part in the encounter against the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Yann Songo'o could step up his return from a knee injury after training last week and returning to the substitutes' bench as an unused substitute for the first team game at Crawley Town last weekend.

Elsewhere, a number of Under-18s players could play a part following their 2-1 win over Bradford City at the weekend.

Scunthorpe have played two Premier League Cup games so far, losing 2-0 to West Bromwich Albion in October and drawing 3-3 at home to Newcastle United the following month thanks to a Miller hat-trick.
