The Iron travel to face league leaders Swindon Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
SCENE-SETTER...
Scunthorpe come into the match looking to bounce back from the 2-0 home loss to Cambridge United on Tuesday night.
The result leaves United 18th in the division but a victory at the weekend could see them climb to 16th.
Swindon are two points clear at the top of the league and six points away from fourth place. They were 1-0 winners at Northampton Town in midweek and haven't lost since the defeat to Newport County in mid-January, being six unbeaten in the league.
TEAM NEWS...
Abo Eisa was set to miss training on Thursday and will be assessed ahead of the trip. He suffered a back injury on Tuesday night and is a slight doubt.
Rory McArdle (hamstring) will also be assessed after missing the last eight matches through that injury and illness prior. He was set to feature in Monday's Under-23s game away at Hull, along with Yann Songo'o (knee), who played an hour in the corresponding fixture last week, but the postponement means they're still in need of match minutes. However, he has been in training for four days now.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Russ Wilcox said Songo'o needed more game time before he would be ready to start.
Elsewhere, Jordan Clarke could return sooner than originally anticipated from a calf injury, as he was originally out until late April. Meanwhile, Kgosi Ntlhe faces 'a few weeks' out with an Achilles injury. United will continue to be without on-loan defender Junior Brown, who will be out for a similar length of time.
Jordan Hallam (hamstring) returned to action in the Under-23s on Thursday, while Regan Slater (ankle) is likely to be out until the end of February at least.
PAST MEETINGS...
The reverse fixture was played on the opening day of the season, with Scunthorpe having the majority of the chances but losing 2-0 to two 'suckerpunch' Swindon goals.
Prior to that, we last faced them at the County Ground in April 2017, emerging 2-1 winners.
