It’s been a really emotional week for all involved at the club and I can only say I have not seen such warmth and resilience between people, as I have seen here during the last 10 days or so, for such a long time. When someone loses a very special person from their lives it is so traumatic, but I just hope that Paul gains a little comfort from how the players, coaches, club staff and fans have rallied to support him, as best they can, through this very sad time.
For tonight’s match we welcome Cambridge United and hope that all the representatives and fans have had a safe and comfortable journey. Sitting just above us in the table, the game gives us the opportunity to move up the table with a win, but I am sure they feel the same!
Russ and his team have had a week of training under their belt and it was quite evident during their performance on Saturday that he has instilled a defensive ethic that the players have completely bought into. The character and effort shown during this game is all we ever ask of our players each week, so please keep it up guys and you will almost certainly win more games.
I don’t think I need to say much more. However, I think a few pictures from the Saturday game showing the jubilation of the result is more poignant.
