We’re once again expecting an inflated crowd for Grassroots Day this Saturday afternoon, as our figures topple over 1,000 tickets sold in the AMS Stand once more.
This is our fourth event in what has become an annual addition to the Scunthorpe United calendar and its popularity and positive feedback has seen it return once more for the visit of Forest Green Rovers. The last six weeks have seen a number of local junior football clubs take up our offer.
The Iron are welcoming teams from Under-6's right the way through to Under-16’s this Saturday afternoon, with teams that play in the Caparo League, the Jack Kalson League, the Lincolnshire Girls League and other local leagues in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas all showing us their support against Forest Green.

We have Broughton Ravers Under-11s flag bearing the two teams onto the pitch this Saturday, while Scotter Colts Under-11s taking advantage of the big flag package. We hope both teams enjoy their added incentive.
Thank you for your support in the event, some of the teams who have booked on have been to each and every Grassroots Day, which is a brilliant achievement, while some managers have commenced the cycle again, bringing a younger team to watch the game. One thing to bear in mind, you can take advantage of group booking rates once per team throughout the season, or register your interest to be flag bearers as the teams walk out.
As soon as the fixtures come out in June for the 2020-21 season, we will be booking teams in for both our flag bearing and big flag package, but remember the opportunity will be available in future campaigns.
