SCENE-SETTER
The Iron lost their 100% record a fortnight ago as they lost 2-0 at home to Notts County, and this was followed by a slender 2-1 defeat at Grimsby Town last weekend, but they still have an impressive three wins from five on the board.
Patrick Virgo got United's only goal last time out, but could have had more, while Joey Dawson had four good opportunities against the Mariners, including a controversially ruled-out goal which would have made it 2-1 to the Iron, only for an offside call from the assistant referee to go against the side.
The Millers were edged out in a seven-goal thriller last weekend at home as Huddersfield Town won 4-3. Their goal difference is minus one so far this campaign having scored 15 and conceded 16 in six games.
United are fifth in the division, but have as many as three games in hand over the teams above them, while Rotherham are sixth with up to three wins and three defeats in their six games so far.
TEAM NEWS
The majority of the squad have returned to action after being wiped out the previous week due to COVID-19 protocols.
Five players returned to training just prior to the Notts County game, but were more prepared ahead of the Grimsby game and will therefore be fitter going into this weekend's away clash.
Ben Franklin is the only current absentee through injury.
The Iron's Under-18s have also been forced have Under-15s and Under-16s in the group to supplement a smaller squad of scholars this season. The team had been back up to their full compliment of players up until the recent outbreak.
