Chris Pollard will take charge of the Iron's away league encounter against Stevenage on Saturday.
The Bury St Edmunds-based official will referee the two sides in what will be his 13th game of the season and fourth in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is Pollard's second in the EFL following his promotion to the National List of Referees ahead of the 2019-20 season following two campaigns on the National League.
The 38-year-old was officiating on both the National League and the Premier League 2 competitions in 2018-19, but made the step up to the EFL after 11 years of refereeing.
His first game of his second campaign in the league came in the Carabao Cup as he oversaw the 1-0 victory for Gillingham over Southend United in which he issued five yellow cards and one red. Meanwhile his latest game came on December 12th when he issued five cautions in Fleetwood Town's 1-0 away win at Swindon Town.
He's shown a total of five red cards this season, with four of them coming in pairs.
He's taken charge of the Iron on two previous occasions, both of which at the Sands Venue Stadium. United won the last encounter back in February as John McAtee netted, while it was a 2-2 draw the previous time against Crawley Town, with Rory Watson saving a late penalty awarded by the official. Across both games, he's issued six cautions.
Meanwhile, he's been involved in just one Stevenage game and that ended in a 1-0 defeat to Bradford City at the Lamex Stadium. Two yellow cards were shown.
Last season, he took charge of a total of 23 matches, showing 73 yellow cards and two reds. So far this season, in 12 games, he's shown 49 yellows and five reds.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Dean Treleaven and Conor Farrell, while Gregory Read will assume the role of fourth official.
