Charles Breakspear will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Colchester United on Tuesday.
The Surrey-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 15th game of the season and his fifth in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his eighth on the EFL.
Breakspear was originally appointed to the fixture when it was due to take place in October and has remained on the game.
His first game of the campaign was Brentford's 1-1 draw against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup - the first match at the new Community Stadium. The Bees won 4-3 on penalties with the official issuing one red card in the game. He was last in action last midweek, taking charge of the 1-1 draw between Newport County and Walsall. He showed four yellow cards.
Coincidentally, he was back at Rodney Parade at the weekend, as fourth official to Sam Purkiss.
He's taken charge of the Iron on seven occasions in total, most recently last August away at Cambridge United when we lost 3-2. He issued an early red card to James Perch on the day. Prior to that, he was in charge in September 2018 when the side beat AFC Wimbledon 3-2 at Kingsmeadow following a brace from Josh Morris and the winner from Ike Ugbo. In total, in the seven games he's been involved with Scunthorpe, he's shown 28 yellow cards and one red.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Colchester United on 16 occasions, nine of which have come on their home soil. His officiated the U's in the play-offs back in June as Exeter put one foot in the final with a 3-1 home win, but he last took charge of the side last month when they bet Stevenage 3-1 at home. In total, across the 16 games, 56 yellow card and five reds.
In 2019-20, he took charge of 32 games, issuing 140 yellow cards and 12 reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 14 encounters, showing 58 yellows and three reds.
On Tuesday, Breakspear will be assisted by Geoffrey Liddle and Wayne Grunnill, while Ian Smedley has been appointed as the fourth official.
