#STAYINtertotoCup: Report: Iron 0-4 West Ham United

17 April 2020

John McAtee bowed out of the FIFA STAY INtertoto Cup, as he took on West Ham United's Ryan Fredericks and lost in the final group stage match.

The Iron forward played as his current club, locking horns with Premier League side West Ham United.

As he had done for the previous two matches, he went behind in the first half, but this time against the run of play, while West Ham caught him on the counter with some superb second half goals to put the result beyond doubt.

The Hammers win Group K on goal difference, while Swansea City also go through after a dramatic 90th minute winner against Bolton Wanderers; winning 3-2.

The last tournament, which was organised by Leyton Orient, was put in place to raise money for two charities and the EFL clubs, while this competition has seen attention turn to the work of the NHS.

The tournament is raising money for NHS staff and projects to support those suffering with COVID-19. You can donate on the tournament’s Just Giving page:
