#STAYINtertotoCup: Report: Iron 1-1 Swansea City

15 April 2020

John McAtee gained a second point in his second match of the FIFA STAY INtertoto Cup, as he took on Swansea City's Ben Wilmot.

The Iron forward played as his current club, locking horns with Championship side Swansea City.

Once again going 1-0 down in what was a very cagey affair, Abo Eisa popped up with a second-half equaliser as the ball squirmed to him inside the box midway through the second half.

Both teams had chances to win it, with Rory Watson's virtual character pulling off a string of fine saves throughout the game.

The other encounter in Group K also finished as a draw, meaning all four games in the group have ended in stalemate. All four teams go into the final matches with two points, with Bolton Wanderers currently top on goals scored (seven), while the Iron and West Ham are tied (five). Swansea are bottom on three goals scored.

United and John McAtee face West Ham United's Ryan Fredericks next for a place in the knockout stages.

DONATE AND SUPPORT THE NHS...

The last tournament, which was organised by Leyton Orient, was put in place to raise money for two charities and the EFL clubs, while this competition has seen attention turn to the work of the NHS.

The tournament is raising money for NHS staff and projects to support those suffering with COVID-19. You can donate on the tournament’s Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stayintertotocup
