The Iron debutant completed his first 90 minutes in over a year in Saturday’s game at the One Call Stadium. Despite the scoreline, Proctor considered the Iron unfortunate not to come away with a result.

When asked to describe how it felt to make his debut, Proctor stated: “It felt good, but it’s never a pleasant experience when you’re involved in a team that gets beat.

“Obviously I’ve not contributed in the way that I would’ve liked, in terms of creating or scoring a goal, so ultimately you’ve got to look at yourself and everyone as individuals."

On a personal level, he said: “It’s good to be out there and make my debut. It’s been a long time for me personally to play 90 minutes, so that’s a positive, but I’m here to score goals and be part of a successful team. Hopefully we can start that next week.”

After his first full week in training since signing for the club, the striker said: “I’m settling in well, the lads are brilliant, which I knew before I came because I knew quite a few of the lads.

“The staff have been brilliant with me as well, so it’s a very good club, and one that I think I’ll enjoy playing for, but ultimately, you can only enjoy it if you’re winning on the football pitch, and we haven’t done that today.”

On the topic of the club moving on and putting the result behind them, he said: “We need to look at where it’s gone wrong and put it right, as soon as we can.”

With Morecambe next up at the Sands Venue Stadium, Proctor is looking for one thing only: “Three points, first and foremost we need to win the game. We’ll be going into Saturday, a home match, and we’ll be looking for the win.”
