Despite earning his place in the starting eleven, the full-back described the result as ‘a tough one to take’, after the Iron controlled the game despite the scoreline.
Brown said: “We dominated the game for large periods of time, so to be undone by their one and only chance of the game, it’s a tough one to take.
“I think there’s something there for us to build on, I don’t think we’ll play in many games where we dominate like that, and don’t come out with the result we deserve.”
The 30-year old felt like a crucial decision went against the Iron, stating: “I thought it was a foul (in the build-up to the goal), but even so, it’s one of them where we’ve got to deal with it better. It is what it is, and there’s not a lot we can do about it now.”
Brown made his debut after signing for the club on Thursday, the full-back said: “I’ve not played for a while, so it’s a first 90 minutes and it was good to get out there. I think the more minutes I get, the better I’ll play, and you’ll see more of me bombing forward.”
On how he’s settled in at the club so far, the loanee continued: “I’ve enjoyed it even though I’ve only been here a couple of days. I know a few of the lads and some of the staff, and it’s a good group. I’m looking forward to kicking on in the next few months.”
With attentions now turning towards Tuesday’s Leasing.com trophy clash against Grimsby Town, Brown had this to say: “Obviously we want to go there and win, we’ve got to build on this. We have to go there with the confidence we need in order to win.
“You’ve got to get into that mentality where we go into every game thinking we’re going to win. We can keep building and building, regardless of what competition we’re playing in, we’ve got to focus on just getting the wins.”
