SCENE-SETTER

On the back of a positive 1-1 draw away at Salford City last weekend, the Iron head into Saturday’s game in search of the three points, facing Stevenage, who sit one place below United, in 23rd.

With just one defeat in their last seven matches in all competitions, the Iron are beginning to find their feet in League Two. Stevenage will also be looking to climb the table, after beating bottom club Morecambe on Saturday in a 1-0 win, courtesy of skipper Scott Cuthbert’s late winner.

TEAM NEWS

Manager Paul Hurst has confirmed Jordan Hallam suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Walsall Reserves in the Central League, with the 21-year-old scoring on what was his second appearance since returning from an ankle injury.

Other than that, there are no fresh injury worries ahead of the encounter, with the squad coming through the encounter against Salford City last weekend.

John McAtee (shoulder) and Jacob Bedeau (calf) have come through the last couple of games for the Under-23s.

George Miller (quad strain) is still with Barnsley recovering from his injury, while Andy Dales (calf) remains absent. Jordan Clarke is still out following an appendix operation, although the latter two are edging to contention.

PAST MEETINGS

The two sides have only met four times since Stevenage were founded in 1976, and all four matches were League One fixtures.

The Iron have won twice, drawn once and lost once against the Boro, and the last meeting between the two ended with a 1-0 victory for United, back in February 2013. Mark Duffy netted on the day in the 66th minute, which proved to be the decisive goal.
