Lee Swabey will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away FA Cup Round One clash against Crawley Town on Saturday.

The Devon-based official will travel to the People's Pension Stadium for his 15th game of the campaign and his first involvement in this season's FA Cup.

His first game of the campaign was Lincoln City's 2-0 away win at Rotherham United on the second weekend of the campaign in which he showed six yellow cards. Meanwhile, his latest encounter came in midweek when he oversaw Portsmouth's 4-1 home win over Southend United. He showed two cautions on the night.

He's taken charge of the Iron on just two previous occasions, both of which against the Gills. The latest of those fixtures came back in February when a Mark Byrne goal was enough for the three points to stay at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, while Gillingham also won the previous encounter 2-1. In total, he's shown five yellow cards and one red.

Meanwhile, he's refereed Crawley on seven occasions - their most recent being a slender 1-0 victory away at Swindon Town back in January. He showed three yellow cards on the day and it was the first time the Red Devils won with him in charge for three years. In total, in the seven games, he's showed 26 yellows and two reds.

In 2018-19, he took charge of 30 games, issuing 110 yellow cards and eight reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 14 encounters, showing 40 yellows and three reds.

On Saturday, Swabey will be assisted by Aaron Farmer and Stephen Brown, while Ryan Atkin has been appointed as the fourth official.
