Roger East will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
The Wiltshire-based official will travel to Home Park for his 26th game of the campaign and fourth in Sky Bet League One.
A Select Group One official, East is a professional referee and regularly operates on the Premier League as a match official. The current campaign is his 12th officiating in England's top four divisions with his first top flight encounter coming back in 2012.
His first game of the campaign was a League One affair between Peterborough United and Portsmouth on September 15th. Pompey edged the game 2-1, with six yellow cards shown on the day.
Meanwhile, his most recent game came on April 20th when he took charge of Watford's 2-1 away win over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League in which he showed four cautions.
He's taken charge of Scunthorpe matches on just four previous occasions. His last encounter involving United came back in December 2016 when the side got all three points at home to Millwall in a 3-0 victory. He issued seven yellow cards on the day, two of which were to the Iron.
East has taken charge of 13 Plymouth Argyle games with his most recent back in March when the points were shared with Bristol Rovers in a 2-2 home draw. He issued two cautions in the game. Of those 13 games, 10 have come at Home Park, so Saturday will be his eleventh visit.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 29 games, issuing 95 yellow cards and three reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 25 encounters, showing 92 yellows and no red cards.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Derek Eaton and Mark Scholes, while Alan Young has been appointed as the fourth official.
