IRON TEAM NEWS

Jimmy Dean listed short-term knocks to a number of Iron players, namely Richie Bennett, Jake Leake, Ben Richards-Everton, Mason O’Malley and George Taft.

Alfie Beestin, Aaron Chapman and Jordan Hallam remain out through their respective injuries, whilst midfielder Tom Pugh misses the game through suspension.

THE OPPOSITION

Southend United’s play-off chances took a major blow following their 2-0 defeat away at Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night, leaving a four-point gap between themselves and Bromley in seventh, with just six left to play for this season.

Despite the gap, with only a limited number of points to play for, manager Kevin Maher told Southend United’s website: “Anything can happen in football. We’ve got to keep our end of the bargain and try and get a result that puts pressure on other teams. We want to try and take it to the last day."

Maher’s side currently sit in 9th place, on 63 points, after registering 18 wins and 9 draws from 44 games this season.
