The Tyne and Wear-based official will travel to Spotland for his 11th game of the campaign and sixth in Sky Bet League One. The current campaign is Ilderton's 16th in the EFL.
His first game of the campaign was a League Two affair between Carlisle United and Colchester United on December 15th. That encounter ended 4-0 to the Cumbrians, with Ilderton showing three yellow cards.
Meanwhile, his most recent game saw him show five yellow cards in Notts County's 3-1 win at Carlisle last Tuesday.
He's taken charge of Scunthorpe matches on no fewer than 22 previous occasions ranging from the old Division Three, through to the Championship and cup competitions. His last encounter involving United came over a year ago when he oversaw the 1-1 draw against Doncaster Rovers.
In total, across those 22 games, he's shown 62 yellow cards and four red. Two of those reds have been to United players, while the other two were shown to opposition players.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Anthony Moore and Richard Bartlett, while Graham Salisbury has been appointed as the fourth official.
