SUFC Futsal Round-Up

9 January 2019

SUFC Trust's Futsal sides made a sensational return to action in 2019, completing a rout of three wins from three, scoring 40 goals in the process.

Scunthorpe United 'B' 16-2 Stoke City 'B'
Corey Harkins (5), Adam Rutter (6), Rio Nicholson (4), Tom Sturman

The Iron put 16 goals past their Stoke City counterparts in the first encounter at Sheffield's Pond Forge, conceding just two in the process.

The side were 10-0 up before the opposition got a goal back with the score 15-1 when Tom Sturman put through his own net to make it 15-2. He did net one in the right net though, with the final result a 14-goal margin.

Scunthorpe United 'A' 19-4 Mansfield Town 'A'
Ashley Simpson (6), Jordan Spencer (5), Jonty Jackson (5), Morgan Smith (2), Own Goal

It was a case of anything you can do, we can do better for the 'A' team as they put 19 goals past a Mansfield Town side. The Stags did score four in reply but United surged into a 2-0 and 12-1 lead before the score was pulled back to 12-2.

It was 16-2 before Mansfield got their third and 18-4 before they got their fourth. The final result a 15-goal margin.

Scunthorpe United 'B' 5-1 Port Vale 'A'
Corey Harkins (3), Adam Rutter (2)

With Adam Rutter leading the way on six goals with Ashley Simpson and Corey Harkins in second place on five with Jordan Spencer and Jonty Jackson, it became a two-horse race for the top goalscorer spot with the 'A' side only having one game.

Both Harkins and Rutter would net in the fixture against Port Vale, with the former grabbing a hat-trick and the latter a brace to take them both to eight goals for the day from two fixtures.
