John Brooks will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Doncaster Rovers.
The Leicestershire-based official will travel to Glanford Park for his 28th game of the campaign and his fifth in Sky Bet League One.
A Select Group 2 official, Brooks predominantly officiates in the Championship after just two full campaigns as a referee in League One and League Two. Prior to switching to becoming a referee, he came up through the ranks as an assistant, rising to the Premier League and often assisting Mike Dean. In 2015, he would be added to the FIFA list of Assistants.
His first game of the campaign was Sunderland's 2-1 home win over Charlton Athletic on the opening day of the campaign in which he showed five yellow cards. Meanwhile, his latest encounter came on Tuesday in the Championship when oversaw the game between Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road which ended 3-2 to the visitors. He showed one yellow card that evening.
He's taken charge of the Iron on three previous occasions, all of which have come at Glanford Park. The last two encounters have ended 1-1, while the first saw United romp to a 4-0 win over Southend United. In total, across the three games, he's shown nine yellow cards.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Doncaster on six occasions - their most recent being a goalless draw against AFC Wimbledon towards the end of last season. Five of the six games he's taken charge of involving Rovers came in 2017-18. In total, he's shown 18 yellow cards across the six games.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 51 games, issuing 149 yellow cards and six reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 27 encounters, showing 98 yellows and five reds.
On Saturday, Brooks will be assisted by Robert Hyde and Samuel Lewis, while Andy Woolmer has been appointed as the fourth official.
