A big welcome to all local junior football teams who are attending our Grassroots Day on Saturday, with approaching 1,200 tickets sold in the AMS Stand ahead of the game against Accrington Stanley.
Following the success of last two events when we hosted Fleetwood Town and Gillingham, we announced another Grassroots Day offer. We have again seen a large amount of interest from local junior football clubs around the town and the surrounding villages - including a team supporting us from as far as Mablethorpe!
The AMS Stand won't be housing the visiting Stanley supporters this Saturday afternoon, but instead is welcoming around 70 local junior football clubs through the turnstiles at Glanford Park.
For only the third time in five years, the Iron will be supported from all four stands of Glanford Park.
The Iron are welcoming teams from Under-6s right the way through to Under-15s on Saturday, with teams that play in the Caparo League, the Jack Kalson League, the Lincolnshire Girls League and other local leagues in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas all showing us their support against Accrington Stanley.

A big thank you to all our returning teams. Some have now supported us at this event for all three seasons and it makes a massive difference when we see regular faces. Equally, we are delighted to be welcoming some new teams this afternoon, with Barnetby, Gunness Wasps, Mablethorpe Juniors and Wrawby Rovers all joining us as clubs after missing out last year.
Broughton Ravers Under-10s will be flag bearing the two teams onto the pitch on Saturday afternoon and we hope they enjoy their added incentive, while Burton United Under-8s are taking advantage of the big flag packages, new to the Iron for 2018-19.
As attendees of this event, all teams will be entered into a free prize draws. We will announce the winners of the competitions next week.

Remember, you can take advantage of group booking rates once per team throughout the season, or register your interest to be flag bearers as the teams walk out. We are sold out for the remainder of the 2018-19, but remember the opportunity will be available in future campaigns. Offer price may vary.
